Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of nflo (“the Service”), operated by The Bearded Developer Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. About the Service
nflo is a personal work management tool designed for neurodivergent solo contractors. It provides task management, time tracking, document storage, and AI-assisted task prioritisation.
The Service is currently in beta. It is provided free of charge while in this phase. We make no guarantees about feature availability, uptime, or data persistence during the beta period, though we will always make reasonable efforts to protect your data.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using nflo, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
If you are between 13 and 18, you confirm that you have obtained appropriate parental or guardian consent where required by applicable law.
3. Your account
You sign in to nflo using your GitHub account via OAuth. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your GitHub account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your nflo account
- Notifying us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised
We will never ask for your GitHub password.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Store or transmit unlawful, harmful, defamatory, or infringing content
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related system
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Use the Service on behalf of others in a way that violates their privacy rights
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
5. Your content
You retain full ownership of any content you create in nflo — your tasks, projects, time entries, documents, and notes (“Your Content”).
By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not use Your Content for any other purpose, including training AI models.
You are responsible for ensuring Your Content does not violate the rights of any third party.
6. AI features
The “Today’s Focus” feature uses the Claude API (provided by Anthropic, PBC) to analyse a subset of your task data and suggest priorities. By using this feature, you acknowledge that:
- A subset of your task data (titles, due dates, priorities, and points) is transmitted to Anthropic’s API
- AI suggestions are generated automatically and may not always be accurate or appropriate
- You remain solely responsible for your own work and task decisions
- The AI feature is a productivity aid, not professional advice of any kind
7. Data and privacy
Our collection and use of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the Service, you agree to the Privacy Policy.
8. Beta service — no warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” during the beta period. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that:
- The Service will be available at all times or free from errors
- Data will never be lost — you should maintain your own backups of critical information
- Any particular feature will remain available
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by English law, The Bearded Developer Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the total amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. As the Service is currently free, this limit is £0 except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
10. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third-party services including GitHub (authentication), Cloudflare (infrastructure), and Anthropic (AI). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the practices of those third parties.
11. Changes to the Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time. During the beta period in particular, features may change without notice. We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice of significant changes.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated where reasonably practicable. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email [email protected].
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
